Originally developed as a graduation project, the SPACESHIP DUFFLE BAG is a sleek yet highly functional travel companion designed to reduce the need for multiple pieces of luggage.

Its innovative modular design combines the features of both a carry-on and a main travel bag into one smart unit. The prototype was completed in summer 2024, successfully validating the concept and leading to further refinements based on real-world testing.

Crafted from durable, water-resistant black stroller fabric and silver balloon fabric—an upcycled material sourced from hot air balloon production—the bag offers a striking contrast in both aesthetics and performance. Reinforced with mesh foam and fully lined, the structure maintains its shape while enhancing durability and comfort.

Functional details include:

• Waterproof zippers and metal components for maximum weather resistance

• Magnetic pockets and a reinforced laptop compartment in the base

• Adjustable straps for shoulder or backpack carry

• Wide multifunctional strap for bottle storage or attaching to luggage handles

• Cabin-approved dimensions: 500 × 220 × 260 mm

A standout feature is the detachable balloon-fabric handle, which transforms into a compact handbag for quick city outings or as an expandable compartment for additional storage.
Reflective piping increases visibility and safety in low-light conditions.
